The Deconstructing Anxiety Group
MONDAYS FROM 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. EST
This group uses the foundational principles and practices from the Deconstructing Anxiety method. Participants bring whatever problems they wish to resolve, deconstruct them down to their core fear, understand how some form of the chief defense is backfiring to make the problem a problem, and use the master key to healing: “doing the opposite of the defense”. Powerful structures for support are built into this (and all) group(s), to help ensure growth each week.
This group has been running for a couple of years now, with remarkable results. This (and all) group(s) also builds a wonderful sense of community among group members.
THE 5 INGREDIENTS FOR FULFILLMENT GROUP
MONDAYS FROM 5:30 TO 7:00 P.M. EST
Now beginning its second year, this group has participants choose the goals they wish to achieve. Each month is devoted to one of the 5 ingredients for fulfillment: fulfillment in love, identity, meaning, purpose and fulfillment in the present moment. Powerful structures are embedded in this program to ensure maximal healing and growth. You can expect to see real change each week, and measurable increases in your fulfillment each month.
NOTE: This group is similar to the Deconstructing Anxiety group but with a focus on the five themes. These themes transform the “universal sources of suffering” into opportunities for profound healing and growth.
RESOLVING SOCIAL ANXIETY AND BUILDING CONFIDENCE
TUESDAYS FROM 12:00 TO 1:30 P.M. EST
social anxiety involves a fear of rejection–a.k.a loss of love (one of the 5 core fears in the Deconstructing Anxiety program), but often deconstructs down further to an even deeper core fear. This must be understood and properly worked with to generate healing and freedom from the scourge of social anxiety, transforming the fear of rejection into opportunities for love and acceptance, a fragile identity into a strong self-esteem and confidence, as well as deeper meaning and purpose in life as well.
DECONSTRUCTING RELATIONSHIPS: LETTING GO OF JUDGMENT, MASTERING FORGIVENESS, AND NURTURING INTIMACY
FRIDAYS FROM 12:00 TO 1:30 P.M. EST
All problems, in some form or another, involve relationships with people. To find a path to fulfillment, we must develop “intimacy” with others in the truest sense of the word–recognizing our Oneness with them. And this means we must deconstruct the roadblocks in the way of such Oneness. This is so for all our relationships: with lovers, parents, children, friends, co-workers, communities, societies and humanity as a whole.
With a proper deconstruction, we find the roadblocks to Oneness always involve using judgment as a defense; assigning meanings to the other person and their actions that inevitably backfire. And so, our path becomes a matter of developing empathy for the way the other is creating and acting on such judgments to protect themselves from fear, AND receiving the same empathy from them. The Deconstructing Relationships approach offers a powerful and reliable path toward this goal, transforming the problems in our relationships into the extraordinary opportunity for fulfillment they hold.

Welcome to the group!
We look forward to working with you. Please review the following information, and sign at the end to acknowledge your agreement with what you have read.
Confidentiality:
Confidentiality is of paramount importance. The agreement among all group members to strictly maintain confidentiality is what makes the deep work of the group possible.
It creates the safety necessary for people to open up and develop the bonds of trust between
members that is an essential part of the experience. By signing at the bottom, you agree to keep everything you learn about others in this group completely confidential, as they will do for you.
Coaching and Education: This is not a therapy group but rather a group coaching and educational experience. That means that Dr. Pressman is not functioning as a psychotherapist and cannot provide the same services as one would expect from a psychotherapist. Specifically, this group focuses on the Deconstructing Anxiety method and, as such, follows a set of principles and practices that are different from those offered in psychotherapy. Dr. Pressman functions as a coach, a facilitator, and educator of this method, as opposed to a therapist utilizing the methods of standardized psychotherapeutic schools of thought. No particular results from this program are implied or guaranteed as a result of your participation.
Availability:
Dr. Pressman is not available for communications in between group sessions. If Dr. Pressman has to cancel a particular meeting of the group, he will give as much advance notice as possible.
Permission:
Because between-session contact with another group member or members is an important part of the work in this experience, by signing below you give permission for Dr. Pressman to share your contact information (email address and/or phone number) with the other
members of the group, for the sole purpose of reaching out to each other for this between-session support. You also agree unequivocally not to use the others’ contact information for any other purpose, as they will do for you.
Insurance:
Coaching and educational services are not reimbursable by insurance.
Responsible for self:
If you are having a mental health crisis, you agree to find appropriate help, and understand that Dr. Pressman cannot be available for contact in such situations. During the group, it is understood that you are responsible for your own self-care, and that neither Dr.
Pressman nor the group can function as a source of help or support for circumstances beyond the focus of the group (the principles and practices of the Deconstructing Anxiety method).
Consistent attendance:
To achieve the healing effect of the group bond, it is necessary that each person commits to attending each meeting. Of course, we understand when circumstances make missing a session truly unavoidable. If you have to miss a particular session, we ask that you let us know in advance. We also request, for the sake of group continuity, that you provide a brief explanation of why you will be missing the session, so Dr. Pressman can share this with the group. This is optional and is not meant to be invasive of your privacy; rather, it helps other
group members feel a sense of continuity week-to-week with the entire group.
Length of attendance:
There is no set number of sessions that one must attend the group. You simply attend as long as you feel the group is providing benefit to you, and conclude when you
are ready to move on without the support of the group. If you conclude your participation before the end of a particular month that has been paid for, you will not be entitled to a refund for all or part of that month. Alternatively, if for any reason Dr. Pressman feels the group is no longer the appropriate place for you to meet your goals, he reserves the right to conclude your participation in the group at any time. Of course, this would be done in discussion with you, and Dr. Pressman can suggest alternative options he believes would be more beneficial for you if you’d like. Under these circumstances, you would be entitled to a refund of that portion of the month that has been paid for where services would no longer be received.
No-harm contract:
You agree unequivocally that you will not harm yourself during the time of our work together. You further agree that should you have thoughts about self-harm, you will
discuss them in session. Finally, you understand, as stated above, that Dr. Pressman is functioning as a life coach and educator in these sessions and not as a psychotherapist, so he is therefore unable to provide the support and other services that a psychotherapist would in the event that you had thoughts of self-harm.
